THE EARLY DAYS

Founded in 2000, Crooked Arm Consulting was the vision of founder Stuart Gripman. As the high tech boom was winding down, hundreds of newly jobless workers were billing themselves as consultants. Yet many of these consultants focused on getting the contract first, and learning the skills as they went. Realizing that there was a market for honest and experienced FileMaker Pro developers, Crooked Arm was formed. Since that time, it has been our pleasure to assist a wide variety of businesses, non-profits, and government agencies with their FileMaker Pro needs.

OK, BUT WHAT'S WITH THE NAME?

The same year the company was formed, the founder and his new bride spent their honeymoon in New Zealand. There they came upon Crooked Arm. Crooked Arm is part of Doubtful Sound in Fiordland National Park. To get there from the San Francisco Bay Area catch a flight to Auckland, then change planes for Queenstown on the South Island. Drive to Lake Manapouri where you catch a boat to the other side. Then get on the bus that takes you over the pass and down to Deep Cove. Board another boat heading east. Crooked Arm is on your left.
